I was looking at the traffic stats in Cloudflare. It is a service used even by some of the terrorist organisations to hide hosting details. It’s just faster and safer server but use cache files and data it gets from your main server. Also it gives website a USA based server IP. Same country server work much better which I have also experimented.
I don’t use Google Analytics. I preferred fuzzy data only because otherwise Schrodinger’s cat experiment may be compromised.
In about 20 days since the site was live it got 10 K unique ip visits and 13.81 K pageviews
Then I read in the Cloudflare’s blog that of all the metrics, unique visitors they are sure but all others like page views and hits not so much.
So 10 K is best estimate of traffic. I asked chatgpt.
It says maximum unreal traffic like bot, Search engine and AI crawlers can take upto 50 Percent. My site is very new and one is indexed in Google. Neither in Bing.
The relationship is:
Every bot request is traffic or Hits.
Not every bot is counted as a unique visitor.
Some bots may still appear in unique visitor statistics.
Most of the bots are identified by Cloudflare and I don’t even recieve any spam so other bots activity is low or absent.
Of 10 K a most pessimistic estimate would be 5 K and optimistic would be 7-8 K. Sometimes 10 may not be over but under estimate. I don’t know which one it is.
Page views to visits ratio is 13/10 = 1.3
May be repeated or just checking visitor open home page to see if any new post and leave so average page views it is less not because of low engagement. New content is recently been added and I am not watching news much.
Generally traffic comes from Google. There page engagement is more reliable. But I have zero visitors from Google.
I needed to have something in the log to plan, expect or calculate any time based calculations.
